Santorini

The Greek island of Santorini possesses a rugged charm that showcases its unique geological attributes. A huge volcanic eruption in the 15th Century caused the formation of a caldera, a massive crater which can be viewed from the summit of island’s cliffs. The rim of the caldera also houses some of the best resorts on the island with the whitewashed village of Thira and the prime sunset-viewing spot of Oia proving amongst the most popular.

The idyllic Greek lifestyle can be enjoyed on the interior of Santorini, with plenty of quiet churches and vineyards offering peace and tranquility. Santorini’s volcanic nature can also be evidenced by outstanding grey beaches at the Blue Flag site of Kamari and the long stretch of coastline at Perissa, where there are watersports aplenty to be enjoyed.
