Rainfall

When to Visit

Below gives you information and a rating of the best time of year to visit.

January

You can expect up to 7 hours a day of glorious sunshine in January and without the humidity or rainfall that you can expect at other times of the year.

February

The beautiful weather continues in February and as an added bonus, you can expect the least amount of rainfall for the entire year. A perfect Winter sun forecast!

The Yachts Club’s Valentine Regatta is on the 14-16th Feb and features racing and live bands in one of the more exciting events on the calendar.

March

Although you may see rainfall increase in March, it’s still minimal and with humidity at its lowest. March is a fantastic time to be in Antigua.

April

Another good month to visit Antigua is in April with sunshine for approximately 8 hours a day, low rainfall though you can expect the wind to pick up in comparison to the previous months.

Antigua Sailing week begins later in the month and attracts over 100 local and international yachts.

May

May is likely to be the last of the ‘dry’ months before the rainfall and humidity begins to increase. If you’re looking for some holiday discounts, for the reasons mentioned you may find some deals around so it’s worth consideration.

June

Not quite the wet season but you if you don’t like the wind, perhaps this is the month to avoid as you’ll see the highest wind speeds in June. Like May, you’re likely to see some good deals around to encourage bookings being the shoulder season.

July

The start of the wet season but you can still expect some beautiful sunshine up to 8 hours a day so it’s not all bad.

If you’re around later in the month, you’re in for a treat with the commencement of the Antigua Carnival which runs for 10 days and incudes pageants, concerts and street fairs celebrating the abolition of slavery.

August

Temperatures can reach the early 30’s but humidity may put you off going if you like to keep active on your holiday.

September

There’s likely to be better places to be than Antigua in September with inclement weather and humidity at its highest.

October

The wettest month to visit Antigua is October though the showers are likely to come in short bursts so if you’re looking for a sunbathing holiday, don’t write it off, just be aware it may not be perfect!

November

The wet season is on its last legs and with that, you’ll see a decrease in humidity but it’s not like February when it’s at its lowest. Temperatures will drop a little, but late 20’s means you’ll certainly not be cold!

November 1st marks independence anniversary and the start of the Antigua Food Fair which is held at Sir Vivian Richards stadium with locals encouraged to set up shop with tasty treats.

December

The start of the high season so you may be able to snag yourself a good deal. Temperatures will be in the late 20s and humidity will decrease to make your stay a more pleasant one. You’ll encounter lush surroundings off the back of the previous months rainfall so a nice time to visit.
